Overview

The Benefits Coordinator is a highly motivated, customer-focused self-starter supporting the needs of the Corporate Benefits Department and the greater whole of the HEI portfolio.

The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for answering service requests, administering support for the hotels and their associates, and acting as the primary customer service provider for the Benefits team.

This role helps associates understand HEI Hotels & Resorts' benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, ancillary plans, retirement, and leaves of absence.

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service a wide range of employee benefits related questions, including but not limited to health, dental, retirement, health reimbursement accounts and life insurance.
  • Works with providers and third-party administrators to resolve questions, problems and claims issues and work to ensure quality service.
  • Manages the benefits support tickets and facilitates timely resolution of escalated team member benefit-related issues
  • Assists associates with enrolling in coverage for health and welfare benefits and resolving enrollment issues
  • Create and provide reports as necessary
  • Manages COBRA inquiries
  • Assists with Open Enrollment through setup, testing, and implementation
  • Schedules meetings with vendors
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Provides technical research and interpretation of benefit plan provisions and processes
  • Provides exceptional customer service to HR Business partners and associates
  • Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience working in Human Resources, preferably in the area of Benefits Administration.
  • Ideally the candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent years professional / analytical experience related to the described duties
  • Knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, 401(k), and general benefit program administration
  • Previous experience using HR platforms, preferably ADP
  • Background in customer-service experience is ideal
  • Effectively communicates with supervisors, coworkers, public, guests, and vendors
  • Ability to deal in confidence with sensitive proprietary and personal information
  • Some travel to Company properties across the US will be required on an ad hoc basis
